The Hertforshire Mercury interviewed Lewis Andrews, read the full story here.
Hertford-born filmmaker Lewis Andrews started his film career at the very bottom of the ladder. His first feature film job was literally changing the bins on the set of Jolt with Kate Beckinsale. He describes that stage as one where “all your pride gets thrown out the window,” but it became the foundation for everything that followed. By working hard in that role and building relationships on set, he was recommended for a position on Fast & Furious 9, which opened the door to more large-scale projects.
From there, Lewis joined XM2 Pursuit, a leading aerial cinematography team, and began working on some of the biggest action films in the world, including James Bond: No Time To Die, Mission: Impossible 7 and Fast & Furious 9. As an aerial camera person, he found himself up close to high-risk stunts like Tom Cruise riding a motocross bike off a cliff and parachuting thousands of feet.
Alongside this blockbuster work, Lewis built a freelance career directing and shooting commercials and music videos. He founded Wonderfilm Pictures, working with brands such as Nike, Red Bull, Sony Music, Vogue, Puma and Premier League footballers. One key milestone was DRINK, a music video for artist Jake, which he directed, filmed, edited and handled VFX for himself.
Despite the big credits, Lewis is clear that he’s still learning and that each job requires proving himself all over again. For him, the real motivation is simple: getting the work out in front of an audience and seeing how people react.
