Production Equipment Hire

Wonderfilm Pictures’ 3-way RED KOMODO-X VFX Array is geared up for large-scale productions needing practical VFX plate shoot solutions, aerial or ground.
We work with a top engineer to meticulously design our bespoke, fully wireless, VFX array assemblies. Featuring 3 x ZEISS 21mm CP.3 XD Lenses, our VFX Array produces a stitched plate with a combined 160° field of view (FOV) for compositing Visual Effects background plates.
VFX Chrome Balls Hire
Hire Wonderfilm Pictures’ VFX chrome balls as part of your VFX Supervisor Kit. These VFX balls are used on set to capture accurate lighting references and reflections, essential for blending CGI with live-action footage.
We offer VFX chrome balls in three sizes: 7”, 9”, and 11”. Our VFX Kit rental includes a 50% highly polished/50% matte grey ball, lightweight handle, Calibrite ColorChecker chart, soft fleece bag, and protective case.

FileMaker Pro Data Management
We build FileMaker VFX databases to track on-set VFX work, such as capturing slates, camera notes, measurements, VFX details, and diagrams or photos taken on set. For post-production, we design FileMaker databases to name and track assets and file paths on SSDs or online servers during VFX shows.
We also create similar FileMaker databases to track VFX shots, manage vendor bids, and produce daily reports for the VFX producer.
VFX HDRI Photography
We capture HDRIs on set utilising Wonderfilm Pictures’ VFX kit, which includes specifically designed nodal camera heads like the Nodal Ninja 5. These tools enable the swift on set capture of detailed 360° and panoramic photos, even when facing tight deadlines and varying lighting conditions. To process these captures, we use PTGui, ensuring high-quality and consistent results. 360° High Dynamic Range Images (HDRIs) material can be used as realistic lighting references for 3D scenes. Adding a HDRI environment to a 3D model allows for a detailed and realistic rendering of shadows and lighting reflections.
VFX Photogrammetry & Lidar
Photogrammetry data is essential for reconstructing environments and assets during post-production. We ensure thorough coverage and detailed asset recording by using a range of equipment, from LiDAR to drones. We have contacts in the VFX industry who provide us with on set LiDAR scanning for a wide range of uses in a VFX project such as creating CG environments or solve a complex camera move. LiDAR generates a detailed point cloud, capturing the precise geometry of a scene, which can be helpful for camera tracking.
