Some news from us. The camera array side of Wonderfilm Pictures has grown to the point where it deserves its own space, so we’ve launched a dedicated website for it at vfxarray.com.
When I first put the three KOMODO-X array together it was one product on the hire list, sat next to the lenses and the Teradeks. That’s not really where it lives anymore. Over the last year its been to Spain, flown on an Alta X through some properly horrible weather, had a 4-way version built and approved by Netflix for a virtual production stage, and picked up the Titan LT as its ground and vehicle head. The enquiries have changed too. People aren’t asking “do you hire an array”, they’re asking about overlap, convergence, drone weight budgets and 360° configurations. That’s a conversation that needs more than a product page.
So our VFX Array site is where all of that now goes. The full technical specs for the 3-way and 4-way builds, the drone array, custom build options, use cases for VP, aerial and vehicle plates, and the news and case studies as they come. It’s written for VFX supervisors, DOPs and producers who want the detail, without having to dig through the rest of the Wonderfilm site to find it.
Nothing changes on this side. Wonderfilm Pictures is still the company behind it, still the same kit, same crew, same rate card, and you can still enquire through here if that’s easier. The array will stay listed in the hire section with a link across. It just has a proper front door now.
If you’ve got plates coming up, or a rig in mind that doesn’t exist yet, go and have a look. And if you spot something broken on the new site, tell me, it’s only just gone live.
