Lewis Andrews Teams Up with Sony Music’s Vibbar for a Swedish Music Adventure

Director Lewis Andrews embarked on a 24-hour journey to Sweden to shoot a thrilling new music video called Sweden for Vibbar, a collective signed to Sony Music. Vibbar, a potent force of creative energy, is an ensemble of London’s finest creatives who have been instrumental in shaping the landscapes of music, culture, and fashion since the inception of the grime era in London.

Vibbar, meaning “vibe” in Swedish, certainly delivers an extraordinary vibe in their new video for the song Sweden. The video embodies a vintage VHS documentary aesthetic, complete with time stamps, capturing the essence of the group’s dynamic energy. The song, known for its catchy verses such as “Scratch my back like you’re a DJ/ Bring your friend, we can have a three-way/ If your hips don’t lie, baby, call me Pique/ If I move too fast, slow it down,” stirs up the grime rap scene prevalent in Stockholm.

The music video for Sweden aims to bridge the cultural divide between London and Stockholm, highlighting the commonalities that Vibbar shares with the emerging music scene in Stockholm due to their extensive friendship circles. The intention is to reinforce the connection between these two influential cities and their respective music scenes, encouraging recognition and appreciation from audiences in the UK.

The song features three of the group’s eclectic artists – Poet, Skribz, Jordy, and Skitz. The video also includes other members of the wider Vibbar family, such as Weezy, the beat’s producer; TJ, and Craig Mitch. The video showcases the Vibbar crew letting loose in a 14-bedroom Swedish mansion, providing the ideal backdrop for a party on a pool table. The artists perform their verses in various rooms and in the garden, exploring the spacious mansion and its vibrant atmosphere.

Lewis carried the project through to post-production, applying a smooth edit to the music video. He seamlessly transitioned between the two worlds: the music video and the vlog-style clips captured by the artists. The brief was to encapsulate the energy and fun behind the trip and the cultural fusion between the London artists, set against the backdrop of the party villa in the Swedish countryside and around the streets of Stockholm.
