The Sigma 8mm F3.5 EX DG is a specialist circular fisheye lens offering an extremely wide 180° field of view on full-frame cameras. Its compact design and ultra-wide coverage make it particularly useful for HDRI photography, panoramic capture and on-set VFX reference workflows.

When used with a nodal head and bracketed exposure sequence, the lens allows lighting and environment data to be captured quickly with fewer camera positions than a conventional wide-angle lens. This makes it an efficient choice for fast-moving sets where accurate HDRI reference must be collected without delaying production.

The constant F3.5 maximum aperture and 13.5cm minimum focusing distance give consistent exposure control across a bracketed sequence, while the full-frame DG optical construction is corrected for digital sensors. Because the front element is deeply curved, conventional screw-in filters cannot be used — a rear gelatin filter holder is provided instead.

At just 400g the lens is easy to carry between setups, and it is available in Canon EF, Nikon F and Sigma SA mounts. Hire includes front and rear caps and a protective case. It pairs naturally with our Fanotec Nodal Ninja 5 rotator and Canon DSLR bodies for a complete HDRI package.
