Lewis Andrews worked as a daily on-set VFX Data Wrangler on A Quiet Place: Day One, directed by Michael Sarnoski. The film features an ensemble cast including Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou and Denis O’Hare.

Working within the visual effects department, Lewis’s primary responsibility was to capture, organise and manage the technical data required by the VFX team throughout production. This information provided an accurate record of how each shot was photographed and helped support the later integration of digital effects during post-production.

His work included documenting camera settings, lens information, focus distances, camera height, movement and positioning, as well as recording relevant lighting conditions and other on-set details. By collecting this information carefully, Lewis helped ensure that artists could recreate the physical conditions of the original photography when building or compositing visual effects.

As a daily VFX Data Wrangler, Lewis needed to work efficiently within a busy production environment and coordinate with members of the camera, lighting and visual effects teams. The role required close attention to detail, a clear understanding of production workflows and the ability to record accurate information without delaying filming.

The captured data acted as an important technical reference for the wider VFX process. Precise records of camera movement and lighting were especially valuable when matching computer-generated elements to the live-action plates, helping maintain consistency between the photography and the completed visual effects.

The position covered selected shooting days, supporting the established VFX supervision and data-management workflow and ensuring the relevant production information was recorded consistently throughout filming as required.

Lewis’s work on A Quiet Place: Day One formed part of the production’s wider VFX data-collection process. The information recorded on set was organised for use by the visual effects team during post-production, providing a technical reference for the shots he covered.
