Lewis Andrews worked as a Lead VFX Data Wrangler on the Citadel series, featuring Priyanka Chopra, Richard Madden, Ashleigh Cummings and Stanley Tucci. His work formed part of the production’s wider visual effects department and supported the collection of technical information required throughout filming and post-production.
Working under VFX Supervisor Wesley Froud, Lewis was responsible for collecting, organising and managing VFX data on set. This involved recording how individual shots were captured and ensuring that the relevant information was prepared clearly for use by the visual effects team after filming.
His duties included documenting camera settings, lens information, camera height, position, movement, angles and focus distances. He also recorded relevant lighting conditions and other technical details that could affect the later integration of visual effects. Where required, this data provided a reference for recreating the relationship between the live-action photography and digital elements added during post-production.
As Lead VFX Data Wrangler, Lewis coordinated the collection of information on set and maintained clear, organised records for the scenes being filmed. The role required communication with members of the camera, lighting and visual effects departments, alongside the ability to work efficiently within the schedule of a large television production.
Accurate on-set records are particularly useful when visual effects artists need to match computer-generated environments, objects or characters to the original footage. Details such as lens choice, camera movement and lighting direction help provide context for work completed later in the VFX pipeline.
Lewis followed the production’s naming, reporting and data handover procedures, preparing the information collected on set for use by the wider visual effects team. His contribution focused on the practical collection and management of production data, providing technical references for the scenes and shots recorded during filming and supporting consistent communication between on-set production and post-production visual effects departments throughout.
