Ladies First

Lewis Andrews worked as Lead VFX Data Wrangler during the additional photography phase of Ladies First, a 2026 satirical comedy directed by Thea Sharrock and starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike. The film follows Damien Sachs, a wealthy and misogynistic advertising executive who is forced to confront his behaviour after waking in a parallel world governed by women.

During additional photography, Lewis led the on-set collection and organisation of technical data required by the visual effects department. His responsibilities included recording camera and lens information, focus distances, camera height, movement, position, lighting conditions and other details needed by the VFX team during post-production.

The production featured a large ensemble cast including Emily Mortimer, Tom Davis, Fiona Shaw, Charles Dance, Richard E. Grant, Weruche Opia and Kathryn Hunter. With scenes built around a visually altered social world, accurate references were important for maintaining continuity between principal photography, the additional material and the visual effects work completed later.

As Lead VFX Data Wrangler, Lewis coordinated the practical capture of data on set, maintained organised records and followed the production’s naming, reporting and handover procedures. The role required regular communication with the camera, lighting and visual effects departments, alongside the ability to adapt quickly to changing setups and production requirements.

The information collected provided the post-production team with a clear technical record of how the additional scenes had been photographed. This supported shot matching, compositing, environment work and the integration of digital elements with the original footage.

It also required careful attention throughout filming.

Lewis’s contribution focused on ensuring that the required VFX data and reference material were captured consistently during additional photography, helping connect the newly filmed material with the film’s wider post-production and visual effects workflow. This work supported continuity across the production and supplied reliable references for final delivery.
