Lewis Andrews worked as one of the Lead VFX Data Wranglers on Scoop, a Netflix drama produced in collaboration with Milk Visual Effects. The film dramatises the inside story of how the BBC’s Newsnight team secured Prince Andrew’s widely discussed television interview.

Milk Visual Effects delivered the production’s visual effects work under the supervision of VFX Supervisor Ciaran Crowley and 2D Supervisor Henning Glabbart. Lewis’s role formed part of the on-set VFX data team, supporting the accurate collection and organisation of technical information required for post-production.

Working with a cast that included Gillian Anderson, Rufus Sewell, Billie Piper and Keeley Hawes, Lewis was responsible for recording camera and lens data, tracking information, lighting conditions and visual references for the scenes he covered. This material provided the VFX artists with practical information about how the live-action photography had been captured.

His work also involved gathering reference material for environments and locations that required visual effects enhancement or recreation. This included scenes connected with Buckingham Palace, where accurate photographic, lighting and spatial references were important for matching digital work to the original footage.

As one of the Lead VFX Data Wranglers, Lewis helped maintain organised records, followed the production’s naming and reporting procedures, and coordinated the handover of relevant data to the wider visual effects team. The position required close attention to detail and regular communication with members of the camera, lighting and VFX departments.

The information collected on set supported Milk Visual Effects during post-production by providing technical context for compositing, environment work and shot matching. These records helped connect the conditions of the physical shoot with the digital work completed later by artists during final delivery. Lewis’s contribution focused on ensuring that the required data and references were captured clearly and consistently for the sequences handled by the VFX team.
