FAQ

We will provide a bespoke quote for each job. Please send an email to lewis@wonderfilmpictures.com, with details such as the duration of the job.

Yes, the chrome and grey reference is integrated into the same ball, with one half chrome and the other half grey for rotational capture.
The array delivers 160° FOV coverage and a 27.9% FOV overlap, which is intended to improve stitching reliability.
Full 360 coverage would need to be planned as a custom rig. Please contact lewis@wonderfilmpictures.com to discuss the details.
Yes. The VFX Array rig can be hired for overseas productions, and international work is a major part of our business.
The array equipment is UK-based during down periods, with logistics planned per hire to get the kit to the required shoot location.
Production may be able to use the rig with an operator, particularly with the turnkey Ronin 2 array. The standard hire also includes a supervising technician.
We can manage processing of the array footage after filming and provide deliverables that meet the vendor specification.
The array does not currently output a live stitched feed. It can stream live playback from all cameras through a Teradek Bolt 6 1500 without overlap.
The FOV specs are approximately 65.5° horizontal and 37.5° vertical when the ZEISS 21mm CP.3 XD is used on RED KOMODO-X 6K.
Yes. The 21mm ZEISS lenses include extended lens data that can support usable distortion mapping and undistortion workflows.
Vendors can view the RED KOMODO-X VFX Array Rig specifications on the array page.

VFX Array Rig Hire for East London Stages

We cover East London including Hackney, Stratford, Leyton, Victoria Park, Canning Town, Barking and Dagenham, across the E, IG and RM postcode areas. We supply camera packages, lenses, wireless video and grip equipment as part of a complete kit package.

East London now holds the largest concentration of new stage space in the capital. Eastbrook Studios in Dagenham opened in 2025 with twelve purpose-built soundstages across a 21.5-acre campus, and 3 Mills Studios in Bow continues to run nine stages and over 75,000 square feet of filming space. Between them they have hosted high-end drama, features and returning series.

New stages mean new demand for the data that surrounds a shoot. Productions building CG extensions, replacing skies or set-extending beyond a stage wall need HDRI lighting capture, clean plates and environment reference gathered on location, not reconstructed afterwards. Our VFX Array rigs and VFX Ball kits cover exactly that.

The RED KOMODO-X VFX Array records 15K stitched plates across a 160° field of view with 27.9% overlap, which suits set extension, digital environment work and virtual production backplates. The chrome and grey reference balls capture on-set lighting data, and the ZEISS CP.3 XD lenses supply extended data for distortion mapping and undistortion, so material arrives at the vendor usable.

East London also gives contrasting exteriors within a short radius. The Olympic Park and the Docks provide contemporary and industrial backdrops, Hackney and Victoria Park cover street and park work, and the Thames frontage east of the city carries real scale. Most of this is location shooting, so kit needs to be compact and quick to deploy — our array arrives as a turnkey build ready to shoot in under thirty minutes, with Teradek Bolt 6 wireless monitoring and lens control at up to 1500 feet.
