The region is central to UK automotive filming. Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedford Autodrome and Santa Pod Raceway sit within a short drive of each other, and car commercials, manufacturer films and vehicle plate shoots run in the area regularly. Our RED KOMODO-X VFX Array can be rigged to a tracking vehicle or gimbal for 160° background plates, which suits driving sequences, CG vehicle replacement and virtual production content shot on these circuits.
The area also carries a long production history. Cardington’s former airship hangars have hosted large-scale feature builds, while Bletchley Park, Woburn Abbey, Luton Hoo and Whipsnade support period drama, heritage and wildlife filming. Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and Elstree are both within easy reach, so units basing in the area can draw on our kit without a London collection.
Our VFX Array systems and VFX Ball kits are ideal for clean plate capture, HDRI environments and lighting reference, particularly on automotive shoots and CG-heavy sequences. The chrome and grey reference balls give compositors accurate lighting data from set, and the array delivers 15K stitched plates with 27.9% overlap for reliable stitching.
The area sits on the M1 corridor between junctions 9 and 14, so kit can be run up from our Chelsea base quickly for early calls or same-day requirements. We deliver to studios, production offices, unit bases and location sets across Milton Keynes, Bedford and Luton, and can arrange collection at wrap or at the end of a multi-week booking.
