VFX Array Rig Hire in Oxford and Oxfordshire

We provide VFX Array rig and VFX Ball hire across Oxfordshire, including Oxford, Headington, Cowley, Abingdon, Witney and Bicester. Wireless video systems, camera kits, lens packages and grip equipment are also available to support location filming throughout the OX postcode areas.

Oxford has been a fixture on screen for decades. The colleges, the Bodleian and the Radcliffe Camera carry period drama and feature work, and the city has hosted long-running series filmed almost entirely on location. Blenheim Palace at Woodstock handles large-scale feature production, and Broughton Castle, Waterperry and the Chilterns cover estate and countryside filming.

Period work in a living city creates a specific problem: modern signage, parked cars, aerials and street furniture all have to come out in post. Clean plates and accurate HDRI reference are what make that removal cheap rather than painful. Our chrome and grey reference balls capture on-set lighting data, and the ZEISS CP.3 XD lenses supply extended data for distortion mapping and undistortion, so plates line up when the vendor comes to composite.

The county also supports work well outside the historic centre. The BMW plant at Cowley, the Harwell and Culham science campuses, Bicester Heritage and RAF Brize Norton near Witney bring automotive, technical, factual and military filming to the area, each with its own access and safety requirements.

For countryside location shoots and CG integration, our RED KOMODO-X VFX Array records 15K stitched plates across a 160° field of view with 27.9% overlap. The rig arrives as a turnkey build ready to shoot in under thirty minutes, which matters when a college or estate has granted a short access window.

Oxford is a direct run up the M40 from our Chelsea base, so kit can reach the city for an early call without an overnight.
